CHRISTMAS!

Its Christmas. Technically its my second ever Christmas but because I was so teeny tiny last year (Mummy says I slept through most of it) this was my first real one.

We had lots of places to go and people to visit. First we saw Poppa and Jenny-Gran and everyone in Daddy's family for lunch at the RSA the weekend before.

Then on Christmas Day we had presents at home, then church, then lunch at Nana and Granddads and then dinner with my friend Toby and his brother Sasha and Mummy and Daddy. It was a very busy day and I got a bit tired... but I kept on going even without a nap

I am ONE!

I turned one on Christmas Eve. We had already had my party but I still got some presents. Mummy and Daddy gave me a wooden trolley and Daniel gave me some pink gumboots that he picked out himself.

Its been a while since I have been weighed and measured but I am definitely getting bigger. I am pretty good at eating, I am preferring to have real food rather than baby mush. I will try almost anything and eat meat, chicken, smoked salmon, avocado, kumara, potato, carrot, tomato, sundried tomato... my favourite foods are probably strawberries, blueberries, kiwifruit, rice crackers and lamb.

I can say a few words like bird, bye bye, up, Daddy, Mummy, hello. I love birds particularly and spend a lot of time trying to see them out the windows. I love books and pottering around playing with toys. Daniel and I often play chase up and down the hall and it is super fun and makes us giggle.

I am getting more confident around people and love hanging out with Nana and Granddad and Daddy is becoming one of my favourite people. Sometimes if he puts me down I cry. I am crawling at speed and can pull myself up onto my knees and sometimes into standing but its a lot of effort.

Its my party...

Today was my birthday party. I had a wonderful time. I got given some lovely presents. I got a ball, a dolls pram, some dolls, clothes and books. I was very spoiled. Here are some photos

Hello Mummy!

11 months old!

The countdown to my first birthday has begun... how are Christmas plans coming?

I am really enjoying being able to move, you won't believe the things that you can discover... pulling CD's out of the TV cabinet is so fun! And so is pulling pots out of the cupboard! Daniel tends to take the things I want to play with away though... soon I'll be able to catch him.

I have been a bit sick for the last 5 days or so, just a virus, but I am not eating much or sleeping well so the whole family has been feeling a bit tired. But I am very happy and love puddling about doing my own thing.

We don't know how heavy I am, but I am able to wear my lovely summer clothes which are size one so I must be getting bigger! When I am not sick I love eating porridge with Daddy and Daniel, I like to try anything that Mummy or Daddy are eating (Daniel tries to slip food to me to although he's not really allowed to do that), and I love fruit, especially oranges and kiwifruit. I still love Mummy milk and water is fun to spit out or blow raspberries with!

I love being outside and particularly watching birds, they are so interesting! I love music and playing guitar with Daniel and he is a great singer. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is guaranteed to cheer me up if I am getting a bit grumpy and I can wave and clap and am trying to talk a lot.

Less than two months before Christmas!

How's your Christmas shopping going?

I am well over 10 months now and I am doing really well. I am trying very hard to move and have become an expert in going backwards. Not quite what I want to do but I am sure I'll find the forward button soon! I am interested in anything and everything, particularly books and magazines, shoes, jewelery, glasses, phones, anything electronic, plastic, cardboard, paper... Mummy could keep on writing forever.

I am eating well, I particularly like eating what everyone else is eating and can manage some surprising things like bolognaise sauce and I love chewing on meat. I am still on Mummy milk but quite enjoy drinking water out of my cup as well.

I can now clap and wave and am very proud of both!
